All of us (beginning with Adam and Eve) are guilty of disobeying God's holy law, and thus deserve God's judgment of death.
The Lord God commanded the man, saying, "From any tree of the garden you may eat freely; but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat from it you will surely die." Genesis 2:16-17
As it is written, "There is none righteous, not even one." Romans 3:10
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
God the Son incarnate, Jesus Christ the Lord, bore our guilt and God's judgment when He was crucified on the cross, making full atonement for our sin.
All of us like sheep have gone astray, Each of us has turned to his own way; But the Lord has caused the iniquity of us all to fall on Him. Isaiah 53:6
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:16
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8
And He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed. I Peter 2:24
Jesus Christ, bodily resurrected on the third day, is the only Saviour - saving all who come to Him in true repentance and faith.
But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through His name. John 20:31
That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9
For "whoever will call on the name of the Lord shall be saved." Romans 10:13
For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. Ephesians 2:8-9
If you desire to trust in Christ as your Saviour:
Realize that you are a sinner (someone who has broken God's laws) and confess this to God, repenting of your sin. Believe that God sent His Son to die for your sins and be raised from the dead. Put your faith in this sacrifice to be wholly sufficient to cover the eternal consequences of your sin.
If you made this decision and have put your faith wholly in the sacrifice that Jesus made, or just have questions or want to discuss these ideas further, please contact us. We would love to talk with you, pray with you, rejoice with you, and help you get involved with our local church family. You can also find other presentations of this good news at Answers in Genesis.
